The World Wide Web (WWW) has emerged as a viable and legitimated way to publish information. Until recently, surfing was a typical approach to find desired information on the Web. With the exponential growth of the number of web sites commissioned every day and volumes of information published, it is difficult to locate the desired document efficiently. However, number of tools have been developed to enable efficient searching of information published on the Web. Though the number of search tools (search engines) is growing, there is no single tool that can be relied upon to satisfy every query. This paper attempts to examine, compare and evaluate various search tools. The paper further provides tips of efficient and quick web searching.
